First Full Day – 2018 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
We got a chance to go downtown as soon as we arrived in Sturgis on Saturday, but Sunday was our first full day at the rally, ya know we were goin’ hard all day.
With a full slate of places to hit, we left the Hogs house early and made our way to the world famous Buffalo Chip campground. This place always has a ton of shit going on and is the location for dozens of biker shows and concerts. We were there to check out the FXR show and meet up with a few friends of the saloon. It was a good scene strolling through the FXR gathering and catching up with the leaders of the industry. And, it was just as cool checking out everything else the Buffalo Chip has to offer. Awesome vendors, and the Ives Brothers Wall of Death show was a nice bonus – those stunt riders are fuckin’ crazy.
From the Buffalo Chip, to the Broken Spoke, and back to the Chip, the day continued in bad-ass fashion. The “Motorcycles as Art” show, hosted by famous biker lifestyle photographer Michael Lichter, was exceptional. An unexpected first day highlight, and that’s why we love coming to this rally!
And the day wasn’t over yet, Black Hills Cycle in Spearfish invited us out for some good grub, drink, and live entertainment to close out the night. Thank you Black Hills, thank you Michael Lichter, thank you Buffalo Chip, thank you Sturgis, it feels great to be back!!!
