Hogs & Heifers 17th Annual Hog Wild for Kids Charity Ride & Event
Over 150 motorcycle riders, passengers and cagers joined together at Hogs & Heifers Saloon on the morning of Sunday, May 22, 2022, to take part in our 17th Annual Hog Wild for Kids Charity Event. Just before everyone took off for the ride to Pioneer Saloon, Hogs owner, Michelle Dell and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation President/CEO, Jeff Gordon, spoke to the crowd about the meaning and significance of our Hog Wild for Kids Charity Event, that benefits the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation’s Camp Cartwheel Program.
Just about a month before HWFK, Hogs lost a loving member of our family, Guy Mills. Guy never missed a Hog Wild for Kids Charity Event in 16 years and to honor him we dedicated the motorcycle ride of our 17th Annual Hog Wild for Kids Charity Event to him. After sharing some thoughts about Guy, Michelle declared that from here on, it will be the “Annual Guy Mills Hog Wild for Kids Charity Event & Motorcycle Ride”
Kickstands up at 10:30am and we all headed south to the Pioneer Saloon where we enjoyed lunch and the live music of the AVENUE B band. Big Thank You to the Pioneer Saloon and Old Man Liver for the hospitality and the $250 donation they made to NVCCF.
After lunch at the Pioneer Saloon, we all headed back to Hogs where the party continued, and our Live Auction began. The action was hot and fast as people bid on items like a Tito’s Vodka Bike, Founder’s Brewery Fire Pit, Adrenaline Rush Slingshot Rentals, Sun Buggy Excursions, framed artwork from the Michael Godard Gallery and more. After the Live Auction, we posted all the winners from our Raffles and participants walked away with merchandise, gift cards, alcohol, experiences, cooler and so much more.
It was a beautiful day for riding and helping raise money for a very good cause. In the end from Rider Registrations, Raffle Ticket Sales, Live Auction and Donations made, we raised $25,000 which allows us to send 100 kids in treatment to Camp Cartwheel that is going on this week (July 19 – 23, 2022).
